Procter & Gamble Company recently made a generous grant to the CIC in support of its efforts to increase the number of underrepresented students who pursue graduate study and research careers. The $15,000 grant will be used to support activities...

recently made a generous grant to the CIC in support of its efforts to increase the number of underrepresented students who pursue graduate study and research careers.
 
The $15,000 grant will be used to support activities associated with the , as well as events planned for the fall.
 
“Our support reflects the satisfaction with the goals, objectives and efforts of the CIC minority program,” wrote Nick Nikolaides, Ph.D., manager of doctoral recruiting and university relations, in the award letter.
 
The relationship between the CIC and Procter & Gamble dates back a decade. Past grants helped support the development of the Applying to Grad School Guide, an overview of the application process filled with tips and suggestions.
 
“The future of research and innovation lies among these diverse student pools who often face barriers to graduate education,” said Yolanda Zepeda, associate director of academic and international programs. “Procter & Gamble’s support is essential as we create pathways for students to get into research careers.”
